You could her the crunch of freshly fallen snow under my boots, but it felt as if the rest of the world was at a stand still. The snow had stopped falling an hour ago, and the wind along with it. The hum of the street lamps stopped my ears from rigging in the otherwise complete silence. I was on my way to what I knew would be my last night out. It felt as if the world knew.
